FIRE SAFETY FOR BABYSITTERS Leave the babysitter a number where you can be contacted in case of an emergency. Keep the number of the Fire Department on or near the phone. 911. Leave the name and number of a neighbor or relative babysitters can contact in case they can’t reach you. Write donw the address of your house and the names of the nearest cross streets so the babysitter can identify the house location by phone if he or she needs to. Familiarize the babysitter with the locaiton of your smoke alrms. Be sure he or she can recognize the alarm. Give the babysitter a basic outline of the floor plan of your home, with two exits marked as escapes from each room in case of fire. Be sure your children know these escapes from every room. Tell the babysitter what your children have been instructed to do. |
